Comrod launches three new products at DSEI

Comrod, an international supplier of rugged communications equipment, introduced today its new family of LTE antennas and power supplies, and demonstrated its next generation computer controlled telescopic masts.

“The new family of Comrod LTE antennas supports the emerging LTE technologies used for wide band communications on the battlefield”, said Mr Jo Eide, VP of R&D. “Our customers can now field LTE systems assured of maximum performance without sacrificing ruggedness”. The new antennas are designed for optimal performance in band 14 (US Public Safety), 20, 28 and adjacent bands. Dual band and tri-band configurations are available, enabling configurations such as LTE + VHF through a single antenna. Supporting a wide range of mounting options including standard NATO vehicular mounts, mast mounts and shipboard options the antennas deliver the flexibility and quality customers expect from Comrod.

The Comrod ComPact 1200 Dual Input provides capability not found in any other power supply. “We kept the best-in-class power density of the ComPact AC/DC and integrated a 12V to 24V converter to allow the use of 24V military equipment in 12V vehicles” stated Mr Arne Syversen, VP of Comrod Power. “Because the ComPact 1200 Dual Input can simultaneously charge both the 12V vehicle battery and an optional 24V volt battery bank, the vehicle is always kept fully charged and mission ready.”

Comrod’s new generation of self-supporting telescopic masts introduce computerised control (patent pending) and high speed extension/retraction. The mast fits most vehicular and shelter platforms, and supports applications ranging from radio link communications to unmanned radar systems for border surveillance. “Our customers’ wanted rapid deployment and reduced vulnerability. They needed to quickly extend the mast to the correct height for any given situation” said Mr Jean Fagot, General Manager of Comrod Mast Centre of Excellence. “The new system additionally enables an operator to raise and lower the mast from a remote location, and is an example of how Comrod continues to lead innovation in mast technology.”

Comrod is exhibiting at DSEI at stand N8-260, where the new products are on display in addition to a range of selected Comrod products.
