Data Device Corporation (DDC), a leader in high reliability Connectivity, Power, and Motion Control solutions, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to expand its space market capabilities and product offering with the planned acquisition of the microelectronics group from Maxwell Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: MXWL). Maxwell is a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative, cost-effective, space-qualified microelectronics solutions for satellites and spacecraft.

Maxwell microelectronics has provided space-qualified radiation-tolerant and radiation-shielded products, including semiconductors and single-board computers, to the space industry for more than two decades. Maxwell’s radiation mitigated power modules, memory modules and single board computers incorporate powerful commercial silicon for superior performance and high reliability in aerospace applications.
