DDC Launches Rugged Avionics Interface Computer To Support High Density Multi-I/O Data Networking

Data Device Corporation (DDC), the leader in multi-protocol avionics data bus connectivity solutions introduces its new Rugged Avionics Interface Computer. Ideal for both system upgrades and new systems, DDC’s Rugged Avionics Computer provides a flexible and scalable platform that supports a wide range of Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 717, CANbus 2.0/ARINC 825, RS-232/422/485 and Avionics/Digital Discrete I/O data network communications. The system combines industry leading performance from Intel’s embedded computing architecture and the I/O flexibility of DDC’s High Density Multi-Protocol XMC module, to deliver unmatched avionics connectivity in a small form factor, deployable, rugged enclosure.

Rugged Avionics Interface Computer

System Performance

  • Scalable processing from an Intel® Atom™ Bay Trail processor to an Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 dual or quad core processors
  • Dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for network connectivity and bridging to 1553 or 429

Avionics Functionality Enabled by the Cadre of DDC Interface Cards

For example: Integrating DDC’s Multi-I/O XMC (BU-67118) provides up to…

  • (4) Dual Redundant MIL-STD-1553/1760 Channels (plus up to 4 more for mini-PCIe)
  • (20) Programmable Tx/Rx ARINC 429 channels
  • (2) Programmable Tx/Rx ARINC 717 Channels
  • (2) CANbus 2.0/ARINC 825 Channels
  • (8) Programmable RS-232/422/485 Channels
  • (10) Avionics/Digital Discrete I/O

Environmental

  • Temperature Range: Operating : -40°C to +70°C
  • On Board Thermal Monitoring
  • Shock:  MIL-STD-810G – 516.6
  • Vibration:  MIL-STD-810G – 514.6
  • EMI:  MIL-STD-461F
