Explotrain Announces New Capabilities for X-0 Series Blast Simulators

Explotrain® LLC announced the addition of two new features for their popular X-0 Series™ Explosive Blast and IED Simulators.  Users of these propane and oxygen powered devices will now be able to digitally select the fill times for the Sound Chamber allowing them more control over the Simulator's response time and blast level output.  Improved automatic temperature compensation is also included in the software upgrade.

Explotrain's president, C. Dean Preston, said," We are constantly looking to give our customers the most effective and versatile training tools possible.  The user adjustable fill times are another significant step in that process.  Our smallest Simulator, the X-OHW "Harvey Wallbanger", will function with a fill time as short as 0.1 second giving almost instant fire capabilities; while increasing the fill time to 0.5 second gives a much louder and more robust effect.  Similar control over the response time and blast effects are of course available for our midsized Simulators such as the X-05 as well as the much larger X-OMG.  Our customers should note however, that size does still matter and overfilling an X-05 or other similarly sized Simulator will never give the same level of effects as one gets from the X-OMG."  While fill times can be set to exceed the capabilities of the smaller Simulators, the design of the X-0 Series ensures that any excess gas is safely vented to atmosphere before firing, thereby alleviating any safety concerns about inadvertent overfilling.

The new software will also automatically compensate for colder temperatures by extending the flow of propane once its equilibrium pressure drops below required delivery levels.
