Military High Pulse Power Modules

Sensitron’s SCP-5282 devices are designed and packaged to allow systems to comply with MIL-STD-1275.  For power applications utilizing Sensitron’s SCP-5282 device, the MOSFET rating can be selected at 55Vdc.  Since the lower-rated MOSFET devices have lower Rdson, the power dissipation savings on the switching MOSFET devices typically exceeds approximately 40% allowing system integrators to maintain system’s temperature and use smaller heat-sinks.

Sensitron’s SCP-5282 Device

Sensitron’s SCP-5282 devices are potted, rugged, and made with an isolated metal plate and high-impact composite housing.  Sensitron’s SCP-5282 devices have two threaded terminals for easy installation.  For bidirectional configurations, the terminals are reversible and the polarity does not impact the device’s performance. Since SCP-5282 modules have electrically isolated plates, they can be mounted (bolted) on a heat sink such as a metal plate, inside the box wall or vehicle’s chassis.

Unlike active circuit TVS products, which consume power and degrade the system’s efficiency by as much as 10%, the SCP-5282 devices consume virtually no power and pose no power degradation penalty.  Additionally, the SCP-5282 Series of devices have a breakdown voltage higher than the steady state limit, ensuring that the SCP-5282 products will not consume power during the normal mode of an MIL-STD-1275 bus.
