Team TRACKWAY USA Showcase Demo Unit at Modern Day Marine

FAUN Trackway USA, the leading manufacturer of portable roadways and runways, will be showcasing its Heavy Ground Mobility System (HGMS) demonstration unit ‘Rhiannon’ at Modern Day Marine military equipment and technology exhibition in Quantico, Virginia from 23-25 September.

The team will have two booths at the event, with one located in the outdoor area where ‘Rhiannon’ will be displayed. FAUN will also be showcasing its range of solutions that can be used to facilitate both military and disaster relief scenarios, including our aviation solutions, Helicopter Landing Mat (HLM) and UAV Landing Mat (UAVLM).

HGMS is mounted on to a hydraulic spool and comprised of Military Load Classification (MLC) 70 aluminium Trackway. It requires only minimal manpower for deployment, as the system is fitted to the chassis of a military vehicle and powered by its engine. Designed for speed, a full length of 50m Trackway can be laid by two men in only six minutes.

It was developed for the Norwegian Army 15 years ago and today more than 35 armed forces from across the world hold it in their inventories. Most recently, the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) ordered a number of the units.

Trackway can support wheeled or tracked vehicles weighing up to 70 tonnes as a ground-surfacing aluminium matting. It is a temporary solution designed to aid military and disaster-relief missions in challenging terrains such as sand, snow, desert and marshland.

The Modern Day Marine exhibition provides a platform for premier military equipment, systems and service providers from around the world to demonstrate their products to senior decision makers in the defence industry, most notably from the US Marine Corps.
