Aish awarded contract by BAE to build Transportable Enclosures
BAE Systems Integrated System Technologies has awarded Aish Technologies a production build for a series of transportable enclosures for the UK’s new FALCON tactical communications system.
The enclosures can accept 19” rack-mount modules in a number of configurations and ‘U’ heights of installed equipment. They are designed to protect communications modules against temperature, vibration and robust handling in a variety of deployments. This has been achieved by careful attention to thermal management and internal mounting to attenuate shock and vibration, with a construction method chosen to provide a light, rigid shell that can maintain its structural and environmental integrity.
Aish Technologies has consolidated its position as the US Navy’s premier supplier of Low Signature Cathodic Protection by winning further orders on the Virginia Class Submarine programme. These orders, worth an initial £1.2M, have been placed by General Dynamics Electric Boat, lead builders of the Virginia Class. The orders are for technology insertion and manufacture of a second tranche of Aish’s C3P computer controlled impressed current system.
CP3 is modular and scalable to suit a submarine’s construction and mission profile. The Virginia Class variant is a development of the Aish Technologies system fitted to the US Navy’s Seawolf Class submarines, and combines superb corrosion protection with effective low-signature capability in a cost-effective package.
