Easat Antennas Ltd was founded in 1987 as an independent specialist company to design and build antennas and complete radar systems. Since then the Company, a subsidiary of Goodwin PLC, has established itself as market leader in the manufacture of bespoke high-performance commercial radar antennas.

Easat offers a range of radar antennas, pedestals, radar systems, towers and services.

We are an established manufacturer of a range of high-gain low-maintenance antennas that integrate with complete security surveillance systems to provide enhanced radar detection performance optimised for small targets, especially in poor weather.

Easat products are in service in over 50 countries with more than 240 installations. Applications include:

Deployable Compact Air Surveillance Sensor

Our most recent addition to the product range is the ‘D-CASS’: Deployable Compact Air Surveillance Sensor. This is a self-contained, lightweight, collapsible antenna system that is available in differing mounting options, either trailer-mounted or palletised, for easy transportation. Designed for rapid deployment it can be operational in 30 minutes from its transport state. The dual frequency, carbon fibre composite high performance reflector operates at S-band and L-band, with three states of polarisation for S-band. At L-band, the antenna operates in IFF/SSR mode with three beams: sum, difference and omni giving leading edge RF performance. The antenna system is self-contained and easily transportable by airplane, helicopter or towed to site.

Primary and Secondary Surveillance Radars

We supply Primary and Secondary Surveillance Radars. The Primary Radar systems typically provide air surveillance to a nominal 60 mile range. The antennas are capable of being operated with a co-mounted MSSR LVA antenna. Secondary antennas are available in either Standard (single beam) or Monopulse configurations. All antennas that Easat provide are designed for high performance.

Surface Movement Radar

Targeted at the SMR, ASDE and A-SMGCS markets, Easat’s EA3462 High Gain Reflector is designed to provide the highest performance available, whilst minimizing the weight. This product has been chosen by several recognized National ATC authorities for reliable detection performance in poor weather conditions, typically found in regions where monsoon-type rainfall, snow, sleet and ice are prevalent. The antenna can be operated with or without a radome.

Easat have also designed a range of high-performance, low-cost Linear Array antennas specifically for Ground Movement Radar Control at airports. The EA6501 Linear Array Antenna is targeted at the SMR markets in the USA, whereas the EA7401M model is targeted at the SMR markets in other parts of the world such as Canada, Europe and the Pacific Basin. The Linear Array antenna design is based on cellular radio technology and provides high performance at low cost. These antennas are also available in an anti-icing version.

Pedestals and Towers

Easat’s substantial skills and experience in microwave and mechanical design enable us to offer a wide range of pedestals (turning units) suitable for rotating antennas. Easat designs and manufactures low maintenance pedestals which are renowned for their reliable and robust performance in the most extreme conditions. Easat regularly supply pedestals for other manufacturers’ antennas. Pedestals can be provided with rotation rates from 5 to 60 rpm, single or dual motored.

We can also supply and install a range of tower designs and radomes to complement the radar systems in the range. Both lattice towers and the MonoTube range are available. The popular MonoTube is a tubular design with an internal equipment room and vertical ladder or spiral stairway that is delivered to site pre-assembled. This allows for rapid installation of the tower and minimal time on-site.

Every customer will need a unique radar requirement, taking into consideration the nature of the site, the radar detection task, and the available budget. Easat are able to provide a turn-key service from requirement definition and system design, to supply and long term support.
