Hale Hamilton specialise in the safe control and reduction of fluid pressures from as high as 15,000psi down to application pressures as low as <1.0psi.

Air Nitrogen and Hydraulic Valves

Hale Hamilton products and systems for the storage, distribution and the application of compressed air, nitrogen and oxygen are deployed on Naval ships & submarines, Aircraft ground support and Army vehicles/ artillery equipment.

Ships

Typical applications include: Main Engine Starting air supply, Diesel Generator Starting air supply, High to Low Pressure reduction and Low Pressure air supply, Torpedo Launch air supply, Aviation services air supply, Breathing Air and Diving air bottle charging.

Main Engine/ Generator Air Start

On board a major surface combatant, compressed air, primarily to start the main engine, is stored in a number of high pressure air receivers, typically at 4,000psi (276 bar) - 4,500psi (300 bar). Hale Hamilton manufacture & supply pressure reducing stations specifically designed to safely reduce the stored high pressure air down to <600psi (40 bar) for gas turbine start and to <435psi (30 bar) for diesel engine start, and to <365psi (25 bar) for diesel generator start.

High to Low Pressure Air Supply

Hale Hamilton manufacture & supply pressure reducing stations specifically designed to safely reduce the stored high pressure air down to <100psi (7 bar) for all low pressure applications onboard ship.

Torpedo Launch

Hale Hamilton manufacture & supply pressure reducing panels and manifolds specifically designed to safely reduce the stored high pressure air down to <2,500psi (175 bar) for ship borne torpedo launch air systems.

Fire-fighting, Damage Control & Diving Air

Hale Hamilton manufacture & supply the innovative AUTOCHARGE Automated Cylinder Filling (ACF) System for filling Breathing Air (BA) cylinders used in fire-fighting and damage control onboard ship and for filling Diving Air (DA) cylinders used by Ship’s divers and Special Forces divers.

Aviation Services

Hale Hamilton manufacture & supply a full range of dedicated equipment for use with compressed air, nitrogen and oxygen, aviation support systems, used in the Ship’s hangar.

Submarines

Typical applications include: Pressure hull fluid transfer, Ballast tank blow, Emergency Breathing Air and Divers air systems, Escape systems, Hydraulic systems, Diesel Engine Start, High to Low Pressure air supply, and Specialist Pressure Systems.

Pressure Hull Fluid Transfer

Hale Hamilton manufacture and supply a range of hull valves, designed to transfer fluids and gases under pressure across a submarine’s pressure hull.

Ballast Tank

Hale Hamilton manufacture and supply normal and emergency high pressure and low pressure blow valves, with hydraulic, pneumatic and manual actuation, designed to isolate, leak free and when required pass high pressure at high flow.

Emergency Breathing Air/ Escape Systems

Hale Hamilton is recognised as the design authority for the Hood Inflation System (H.I.S) Pressure Controller and the associated Stole Charging Valve (SCV).
Hale Hamilton is also recognised as a design authority for the Built-In-Breathing System (B.I.B.S) Reducing Station used in the supply of Emergency Breathing Air.

Hydraulic Systems

Hale Hamilton manufacture and supply a range of 5W3P, 4W3P, 4W2P, 3W2P, and 2W2P electrically actuated and manual directional control/ selector valves, for use with hydraulic oils and also with water glycol.

Air - Ground support equipment

Hale Hamilton offers a range of pressurised gaseous Ground Support Equipment for various applications on Military rotary, fixed wing aircraft and UAV’s, and for Civilian applications on Business Jets and Commercial Aircraft. Gases served include nitrogen, oxygen and compressed air, at storage pressures up to 4,500psi (300bar) and filling/ charging pressures down to <15psi (~1 bar).

Portable Charging Unit (PCU)

Hale Hamilton manufacture and supply a range of light weight, compact, robust and pressurised nitrogen portable charging units (PCU’s), used for ‘topping-up’ aircraft tyre pressures, charging suspension struts and charging oleo systems.

Cylinder Carts

Hale Hamilton manufacture and supply a range of robust, pressurised nitrogen and oxygen charging carts/ trolleys, suitable for use on the airfield, in the hangar and in the workshop.

Gas Control boxes/ cabinets

Hale Hamilton manufacture and supply a range of robust, pressurised nitrogen and oxygen gas control boxes/ cabinets, which may be cart/ trolley mounted or fixed stationary in the hangar or in the workshop.

Land

Hale Hamilton has valves in-service in a variety of specialist applications on army vehicles, towed artillery and airborne munitions, such as thermal imaging, gun breach control, variable ride height suspension, quick-acting fluid power systems and missile directional control. Pure air, hydraulic oil, nitrogen gas and hot gas valves are supplied, designed to withstand the rigors of challenging environments.
