With offices operating from Menlo Park, Pretoria, South Africa, IVEMA specialises in providing innovative and specialised solutions for landward requirements of defence, security and humanitarian aid clients.

IVEMA designs, develops and produces vehicles for military, public security and humanitarian aid tasks with a particular emphasis on mine and ballistic protection vehicles.

IVEMA also provides customised and specialised vehicle advisory services, vehicle maintenance programmes, training and documentation services necessary to support vehicle fleets and product support services.

IVEMA personnel is made up of former military officers, specialised military vehicle engineers and automotive specialists, who are able to provide top-class individual solutions for every client, which are based on the client’s need.

Military Vehicle and weapon sub-system design

IVEMA has applied its experience and expertise to develop vehicle and weapon sub-system design solutions that have been manufactured in-conjunction with the client.

IVEMA is registered with the South African National Conventional Arms Control Committee and conducts its trade within the ethos of international conventional arms controls.

Military Vehicle Re-manufacture:

IVEMA has successfully supplied various armed forces and other defence companies in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and South America with military and vehicle remanufacture solutions.

Using ex-stock military IVEMA has successfully completed various military and security re-manufacture programmes vehicles in accordance with client specifications.
These programmes include modifications, vehicle internal re-configuration, training packages, spares, documentation services and the integration of communication equipment.

To date IVEMA’s vehicle re-manufacture programmes include the Mamba Troop Carrier, the Casspir MkII with MkIII upgrades, Buffel Troop Carrier, Unimog Logistic Support Vehicle, the Eland 90mm Reconnaissance Vehicle, Battlefield Recovery Vehicles and De-mining vehicles.

GILA 4X4 Mine Resistant and Ambush Protected Vehicle:

IVEMA is home to the GILA: a 4x4 Mine Resistant and Ambush Protected Vehicle which was designed and developed by the company as a 21st Century vehicle platform (MRAP) for applications in both conventional and unconventional operations.

The GILA MRAP is a high mobility vehicle platform which can be used in various types of terrains. Due to its exceptional suspension design the GILA is able to perform well both on and off-road making it suitable for rural and urban operations.

The GILA is currently in service with seven African armed services in the Armoured Personnel Carrier, Battlefield Ambulance and Armoured Patrol variants. Production is currently underway to supply African countries with GILA Armoured Personnel Carriers for their multinational commitments under the United Nations.

Other GILA 4x4 MRAP variants include a Missile Platform, a Mortar Platform, a Battlefield Re-supply vehicle, a Command and Control Post and a VIP Command vehicle.

Military Vehicle Maintenance, Spares and Training:

Included in the GILA package and any other vehicle package that IVEMA provides is a comprehensive training programme. This training programme includes the training of operators, drivers, auto-electric technicians and mechanical technicians.

All IVEMA training programmes are tailor-made according to the clients’ specifications.

IVEMA provides vehicle spares programmes to various clients in Africa.

IVEMA’s vehicle programmes are supported with the required documentation services necessary for fleet maintenance and logistic support.

The necessary manuals for maintenance and servicing of the GILA are supplied as part of the GILA package.

Light Turrets and Weapon Mounts:

IVEMA has designed and developed a range of light turrets and weapon mounts which can be mounted on various military and security vehicles.

IVEMA light turret is electrically driven with a manual override and can accommodate 7.62mm, 12.7mm and 20mm machine guns.

IVEMA’s range of weapon mounts includes various 7.62mm machine gun mounts, a multi-weapon mount and mounts for 40mm Multi-Shot Grenade Launcher.
