Airborne Systems Group

Airborne Systems is world leader in the design, development and manufacture of parachutes systems for the military use. Combining 3 leading parachute brands: Irvin, GQ and Para-Flite, Airborne Systems offers the largest range of military aerial delivery systems for personnel, equipment and supplies as well rescue, safety and survival equipment, space and aircraft recovery and deceleration systems, systems, EW anti-missile decoy systems and outstanding research and development services.

A major supplier to the US DoD, UK MoD and Canadian Forces and to governments and prime contractors internationally, the company has manufacturing facilities in US, Canada and the UK.

Some of our most innovative solutions to meet airborne forces ever more challenging needs:

T-11, the most innovative troop parachute system

Parachute SystemDesigned by Airborne Systems and selected as the T-10 replacement by the US Army, the T-11 is the most advanced non-steerable troop parachute system in the world. Slower rates of descent and decreased oscillation under canopy result in fewer jumper injuries and greater equipment carrying capacity for the modern soldier.

MC-6 steerable parachute as used by the US Special Forces

Steerable ParachuteDesigned for precision infiltration of airborne forces, the MC-6 features the latest in advanced design for steerable troop parachutes such as a higher turn-rate and greater forward velocity and the unique ability to back-up in deep brakes. It was developed through the US Special Operations Forces Tactical Assault Parachute System (SOFTAPS) program and utilizes the same SF-10A canopy that has been in use by US Special Forces operation. In service for over ten years, it is proven to be a safe and reliable design.

Raider Intruder a high performance freefall ram air parachute systems

Raider Intruder is the most advanced parachute system available. Designed for military use from its inception, it allows the jumper to fly further, carry more, and land softly. It also benefits from the advanced design of the Raider harness container which incorporates sophisticated safety features and improved comfort.

Based on the raider intruder and to respond to a need for low level insertions with increase glide performance, Airborne Systems developed the only static line ram air parachute the AS-33 Intruder. Specifically designed for low level insertions into water it can be used to follow rigid inflatable boats from a minimum exit altitude of 1500ft AGL by day and night.

Guide Precision Aerial Delivery Systems (GPADS) as used on the US Army JPADS program

Aerial Delivery SystemSelected by the U.S. Army as their choice for 2K and 10K JPADS (Joint Precision Aerial Delivery Systems) platforms, it uses global positioning system (GPS) and a guidance, navigation and control system to accurately fly to a designated location point on the ground. Using a gliding ram-air parachute, these systems can land at a significant distance from their point of release, keeping the deploying aircrew safe and reducing the vulnerability of the ground troops receiving the supplies.

Airborne Systems’ family of five systems, MicroFlyTM, Firefly TM, DragonFlyTM, MegaFlyTM, and GigaFlyTM span an operational payload range from 200 to 42,000 lb (90 to 19,000 kg) and are certified for airdrop from up to 24,500 ft (7,467.6 m) MSL from high performance transport aircraft.

The only fully certified RIB airdrop system in service

Airborne Systems Maritime Craft Aerial Delivery Systems (MCADS) is ideal for use in special operations missions. The system enables rigid inflatable boats (RIB) to be parachute-dropped into the water, for immediate use thanks to its unique feature of separation of boat and platform after exiting the aircraft. A range of platform configurations can accommodate boats from 6.5m to 11m (21.32ft to 36ft) in length. This is the only system fully certified for use with C130, C17 and compatible with the floor of the A400M aircraft.

Rescue, safety and survival solutions for aircrew and ground personnel

Airborne Systems has a long tradition in the development and manufacture of search, safety and rescue equipment. It includes air-droppable rescue kits for land or water rescue, solutions for helicopter rescue and aircrew restraint, military aircrew parachute system, ejection seat parachute system for high performance aircrafts in partnerships with Martin Baker.

Softkill EW anti-missile decoy system

Airborne Systems’ vast expertise in engineered fabric products led to the creation of the first range of off-board inflatable RF missile corner reflector decoys. The decoy system is a ship-deployed, inflatable, rapid response, passive radio frequency (RF) floating softkill countermeasure, designed to defeat even the latest developments in anti-ship RF missile seekers.
