C2 Mobile Towers

See and Be Seen -

A new mobile elevating multi-use Visual Incident Control Platform brings a new capability to today’s Armed Forces, Police and Security Departments. Until recently mobile forces had only foot patrols and truck mounted command and control units to assist them in their tasks which can be as wide ranging as border surveillance to crowd management at large events or major incidents.

Mobile Elevating Platform

Mobile Elevating TowersC2 Mobile Towers launched their new Fully Mobile Elevating Visual Control Platform at Counter Terror Expo in February 2009 to provide Police, Homeland Security, Border Control and Special Forces with a multi-purpose cabin that can be as simple as an observation platform or a sophisticated Command and Control Unit. Fitted with the most technically advanced surveillance, tracking, targeting and image solution interfaces the mobile platform provides mission critical information at almost any location.

The rapidly deployed mobile tower can be used for various applications including:

  • Border surveillance
  • Perimeter surveillance
  • Major incident control room
  • Expeditionary camp security
  • Harbour and port security
  • Bombing and shooting observation tower
  • Crowd surveillance

The elevating control room works at a height of 7.5m provides 360 degree surveillance capability for at least 6 seated operators plus 2 standing observers on the outside balcony. Roof mounted surveillance equipment raises the standard observation height to in excess of 8.5m.

Depending on the application, the system can be deployed fully elevated within an hour by a maximum of four personnel; it can be recovered for re-location in a lesser time.

The elevating system, cabin and trailer is based on a very well proven mobile Air Traffic Control tower that is in active service with the British Government. It is proven in-theatre and is operational in a wide range of tasks from South America to areas of conflict in Asia.

The C2 mobile tower is able to cope with remote hostile operations and handles a wide range of road surfaces, the trailer is fitted with adjustable air suspension enabling the trailer to be raised on rough roads.

ABS brakes and heavy duty axles are standard.

The elevating command and control system is trailer mounted to negate the single point of failure attributed to truck mounted systems; if the truck fails this renders the system unserviceable. This can result in the system having to be left behind with a possible loss of valuable information gathering equipment and systems. An undedicated towing vehicle in the 8,000kgs ULW class is usually sufficient for normal operational conditions.
In a crowd management situation the elevating cabin can save an operating officer many people on the ground who can only observe from head height. Being conspicuous at 8m height can be an added deterrent to miscreants and those looking to cause trouble as the system can be seen to be not only manned but fitted with surveillance equipment that is constantly monitoring the situation in a 360 degree pattern.

Base Camp security is a further use for the C2 Mobile Tower system, Military Police can have the benefit of height to observe inside and outside of camps maintaining a conspicuous and efficient surveillance capability. The system can be lowered in under 4 minutes therefore in the case of hostile fire can be made safe quickly. Being easily moved means the system does not become a target by being situated in the same position permanently.

Additionally, ballistic protection can be provided, along with blast proof, bullet proof glass.Command and Control Towers

Command and Control Towers

The C2 Mobile Command and Control tower is delivered “plug and play” and can be integrated with the latest suite of awareness technologies.

The console system is modular in design allowing it to be rapidly changed from one task to another therefore spreading the investment between a wide range of applications
