Industrial Designed Rear Projection Cubes for Video Wall Systems

The eyevis EC cube series includes modular rear-projection cube screen diagonals of 50” to 100”. The cubes are available with resolutions ranging from XGA (4:3/1024x768px), over SXGA (5:4/1280x1024px) and SXGA+ (4:3/1400x1050px), up to full HD (16:9/1920x1080px). The EC-series is a proprietary development from eyevis and is completely produced in Germany. It is especially designed for applications which require a reliable 24/7 operation. The display technology is based on the DLP® technology by TEXAS INSTRUMENTS. This superior technology produces high-definition images of the highest quality. Whether you want to display video data or more complex graphics – you will always get a pin sharp image.

eyevis attached much importance on the possibility to use their cubes even in critical ambient light conditions or other challenging safety-related problems. The DLP®-technology guarantees that no burn-in or image retention effects occur when displaying static images. In numerous tests and applications the DLP®-technology has shown its leading role regarding reliability and image quality. The lifetime of the DMD™ chips is about 150,000 hours (MTBF: 650,000 hours). Of course, all the other parts of the device share the same high standards. This results in low service and maintenance costs for our customers.

New LED-lit Cubes with enhanced Lifetime and Colour Representation

With the new EC-LED cube series, eyevis presents a revolution in the fields of modular video walls. The displays are available in different sizes and resolutions. Besides native HD-resolution (1,920 x 1,080 px) and SXGA+ (1,400 x 1,050 px), this new technology will also be available in WUXGA resolution (1,920 x 1,200 px) in 16:10 image format. With this world’s first rear-projection cube with LED light source, eyevis has set a milestone. The cube is designed for sophisticated 24/7 applications and in accordance with requirements in areas with difficult lighting conditions and other security relevant conditions. The MTBF of the LED’s averages 55,000 hours according to the manufacturer. Thanks to the LED-technology, the use of consumables such as lamps and colour wheels can be avoided; therefore operating and maintenance costs could be more than halved. The MTBF of the DMD™-chips exceeds 150,000 hrs. All other components of the cube are of highest quality “made in Germany” and designed for continuous operation. This reliability allows our customers to have calculable costs for operation and service. The automatic colour tracking option (ACT) performs automatic adjustment of colour and brightness of the cubes guaranteeing a homogenous and stable display quality over all cubes in a video wall.

High Resolution LCD Monitors for Surveillance & Simulation

In addition to the cube series, eyevis provides the EYE-LCD series. A product range offering high resolution LC display monitors with screen diagonals from 40” to 82”. There are full HD stand-alone versions of the displays with screen diagonals of 42”, 47”, 55”, 65”, 70”, and 82”. Even higher resolutions are available with a 56” LCD with quad HD resolution (3,840x2,160px) and a 64” LCD with 4K2K resolution (4,096x2,160px).

For LCD-based video walls, eyevis provides narrow bezel versions of the displays with screen diagonals from 40” to 52”. These display modules have a rugged metal housing and several additional features allowing for their use in sophisticated video wall applications.

Customised Solutions for Military Training, Simulation and Virtual Environments

Especially for installations in simulators and virtual environments, eyevis has developed the openWARP technology for real-time image correction of single or multi-channel projections. With the openWARP device it is possible to realise projections with multiple channels on any surface of whatever shape. Of course eyevis provides also rugged projectors, designed on the basis of eyevis’ long experience in DLP® based projection devices. For similar applications eyevis developed the 3D rear projection cubes for passive stereo display walls.
