GLOBAL ARMOUR is a leading manufacturer of personal protection equipment for the military and police around the world; with manufacturing operations in Durban, South Africa and a sales office in the US. Our products are used by the police, military and private security companies in over 35 countries and our major clients include South African Army, South African Navy, Irish Army, Indian Army, Indonesian Army, Armed Forces of Malta, Chilean Armed Forces, Dutch Special Forces, Thailand Navy and US Army; and multiple police forces in the UK and US as well as the South African Police Services, Turkish National Police, Saudi Arabia Police, Oman Police, German Police, Belgian Police and Bermuda Police.

Global Armour has ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturing facilities. We undertake rigorous in house testing and research; and ensure that all our products are externally tested against NIJ, PSDB, US Military and NATO Standards.

Capacity: We are able to manufacture up to 6,000 helmets, 2,000 armour vests and 4000 plates per month.

PRODUCTS

We offer a complete range of personal protection products, and have recently developed a unique new covering for our helmets and plates.  This functional and durable ABS encapsulate design improves the lifespan of the ballistic core, assists in limiting back face trauma and reduces the high maintenance regime required by traditionally painted helmets, and plates previously covered in ballistic nylon.  We have also experienced major success with our EOD suits which not only herald a significant evolution in operator comfort and protection, but also provides a tailor made solution in the armour configuration for any specific threat assessment.  We are currently working on a new ultra light weight EOD helmet, soon to be introduced to the market.

Our helmets and vests are available with the following protection levels in accordance with NIJ Standard 0106.01 (December 1981).

Our ceramic plates are made form aluminum oxide 98% monolithic tile bonded with aramid, and are available with the following protection levels:

Level III, ICW or Stand Alone
Level IV, ICW or Stand Alone.

Fragmentation protection is tested with 1.1 g, 22 caliber, 17 grain Fragment simulated projectile, according to STANAG 2920 and US Mil STD 662F.
