ThruVision Systems
ThruVision Systems is the world leader in products and solutions that detect items concealed beneath a person’s clothing. Its systems are used to protect society against both foreign and domestic terrorists and help to safeguard our armed forces with their operations.
Advanced People Screening Equipment
With advanced people screening equipment becoming accepted across the defence and security sector the company is now globally recognised as manufacturers of the ‘best in class’ stand-off detection systems.
Its products are now operating in every continent and across diverse environmental conditions. 'ThruVision Systems' products are developed for the real world operational conditions that are faced by its customers.
Concealed Object Detection
ThruVision Systems’ advanced detection technology is used by defence forces to detect explosives and weapons. Narcotics, liquids, ceramics and gels can also be detected using ThruVision’s products.
Most people carry a number of benign items in their pockets such as mobile phones and keys. The TS5, ThruVision’s longer range detection system rapidly draws the operator’s attention to the presence of potentially high impact concealed threats.
Stand-off Imaging
Most other people screening systems require the person being screened to partake in the security screening process. ThruVision Systems has developed its technology platform around the concept of ‘detection at a distance.’ This to maintains an appropriate distance between the operator and the threat. I
EDs worn on the body are detected at distances of up to 30m thereby ensuring the operator can respond to detected threats in time.
IED Detection
Since its first development systems ThruVision has ensured that its products could be used to detect body worn IEDs effectively. As an individual approaches the detection system the operator screens them in real time and if an IED is present the operator can see the threats as the person continues walking unaware of the security screening process around them. This stand-off IED detection capability provides the security operator with a required level of situational awareness.
Weapons Detection
Detecting weapons without requiring a person to pass through a metal detector has to date been a difficult task. ThruVision Systems’ detection products are used to locate concealed automatic weapons and handguns.
Non Invasive Screening
Some threat detection systems release high energy x-rays or actively radiate people in order to detect concealed threats. The possibility of these detection methods affecting the health of the person being screened increase every time the person is radiated with this energy.
T
hruVision Systems’ detection approach is based upon ‘passive’ technology; only natural energy from the person and the world around them is used to detect the concealed objects. Using its advanced technology platform its products receive naturally emitted ‘TeraHertz’ energy from each person. This approach ensures that the screening process is safe for all people including pregnant women and those with medical devices.
ThruVision has also developed its TS4 and TS5 detection systems not to display high levels of body information. This maintains the privacy of each and every subject screened using ThruVision’s passive detection systems.
Compact Passive Screening Systems
Due to ThruVision’s advanced technology platform its products are compact relative to other screening systems. They are easily transportable for mobile checkpoint operations, can be permanently mounted in a variety of configurations and can be battery powered during vehicle operations.
People Screening for the Homeland Defence and Security
The TS4 and TS5 are suited to many homeland defence and security applications. Due to the non invasive and respectful technological approach ThruVision Systems’ detection products can contribute in a major way to increasing the security of our societies.
Screening people respectfully and at stand-off distances ensures that people continue about their daily activities without the inconvenience of having to partake in the security processes.
