Vitavox Outacom™ - Tactical Battlefield Communications System:

Battlefield CommunicationThe Vitavox Outacom™ patented communications system is an extremely rugged, powerful, military proven, loudspeaker and multiple audio input system. It integrates with all standard internal communication systems and offers an easily-implemented tactical battlefield communications innovation allowing the user a less than lethal option to be employed when encountering possible threats in the local area. Outacom will reduce the risk of unintended civilian or military casualties and needless collateral damage. It also allows vehicle commanders and other authorised personnel the tactical ability to be heard by people located up to 250 metres from the vehicle or fixed military installation. Speech inputs include a patented secure interconnectivity with internal vehicle communications systems, separate rugged microphones, flash memory, MP3, and secure radio. The system can be configured to meet all security needs and protocols yet remains easy and intuitive to install and use.

Suspects approaching a control point on foot or in a vehicle will trigger a response from the security personnel that requires to be heard. Confronting the approaching suspect in a crowded place requires a targeted audio command in the local language. The Outacom™ less than lethal option will allow the armed forces to deal with these challenging situations by minimizing (ideally avoiding) the chance of any violent impact on bystanders or other collateral damage. Outacom™ will also reduce the risk of inadvertently using unwanted lethal force. This solution is suitable for use by Armed Forces on current operations in a variety of situations from foot patrols through to deployment at fixed military installations. The ability to be able to deter people from approaching when instructed not to and to disrupt enemy ability to monitor friendly force activity are among the functions that the Vitavox Outacom™ System will provide. A portable version is also available.

Less Than Lethal Effect System Ethos:

Vitavox Outacom™ is a tactical, less than lethal audio solution. It can be uniquely deployed as either a plug and play addition to any existing vehicle communications system or in a standalone configuration allowing the operational crew the opportunity to reason audibly with suspected miscreants in their own language before committing to a potentially more damaging course of events. This system also has a failsafe function to enable isolation from the vehicle internal communications system and prevent unintended output. It is MIL-STD-810, IP67 waterproof, shockproof and blast proof to 70G.

Media focus tends towards news of needless deaths and associated collateral damage and the military focus quite rightly, is on the safety of their personnel. Recent articles and seminars have highlighted the roles of the combat soldier being switched from aggressive soldiering to that more akin to a policeman in an instant on the battlefield.
