About WEW.
WEW has in the last 40 years pioneered solutions for the multimodal (road, rail, sea and air) transport and storage of some of the most toxic liquids and gases around. Since then, WEW has built over 20,000 units, handling liquids and gases as diverse as beer and rocket fuel (Hydrazine). Operational failure cannot be an option with such hazardous loads.
WEW developed the first military tank containers in the mid 1990s and has since delivered significant quantities of units to NATO and other forces worldwide. WEW Military fuel and water systems have been deployed in Chad, Congo, Haiti and Afghanistan, amongst other locations. WEW also places a heavy emphasis on ground service and support as far forward as possible.
Military Fuel Tank Containers
WEW PLS Fuel Systems, Ref NSN: 4930-12-378-8076
Developed by WEW in the early 2000s in close conjunction with numerous NATO forces, this system give a flexible fuel storage and distribution in FOBs and PBs. Known variously as “EPLS” and “Multi Kraftstoff”, significant numbers of this unit are so far in service with 5 armies around the world. The double-skinned, heated, unit can be transported by any transport mode, including C130, Antonov and above and delivers a “Drop & Go” fuelling capability. The low-profile, non-cylindrical design gives maximum carrying capacity when used on military 6X6 or 8X8 trucks equipped with hook-arm systems. The system variants have seen successful service in a variety of locations such as Afghanistan and Darfur. Typical Data...Capacity:7,600 – 14,000L, Dims: 6,058X2,438X1,757mm, Delivery Capabilities: Up to 750L/Min, Fuel Types: Diesel, Jet A-1, AVGAS. Option: Ballistic protection to STANAG 4569 Level 4.
WEW Modular AVGAS Systems
In response to a recent request, WEW developed an underwing AVGAS system suitable for refuelling of fixed-wing aircraft and UAVs. The system is air-portable, can be deployed in minutes and requires no prior groundwork such as bunding. As delivered, the system comprises a large storage tank which conforms with all international regulations and 2 700L pumping systems, complete with fuel/water separators and delivery metering. . Capacity:16,000-23,000L, Dims: 6,058X2,438X2,438mm, Other Equipment: 2 X 700L/min pressure pumps, pneumatic valves and 70m. delivery hose. All terminations “Dry-Fit” and on-board safe breather.

This double-skinned unit has been delivered in quantities to numerous armies around the world and is generally used as either rapidly-deployable camp infrastructure or as quick-build fuel-farm. The basic container features a heating system, dry-fit couplings and manifolds if required. Like all WEW systems, the unit contains baffles, thus allowing transport full, empty or any level in between with no need for de-gassing during transport between operations. Capacity:16,000-23,000L, Dims: 6,058X2,438X2,438mm, Other Equipment: Manifolds, heaters, level gauges (mechanical and electronic), optional high/low level warning device. Option: Ballistic protection to STANAG 4569 Level 4.
Military Portable Water Tanks and Containers

WEW PLS Water Systems, Ref NSN: 2510-12-355-1025
WEW PLS water systems first entered service in 2000 and have been delivered in very large quantities to a number of Armed Forces worldwide. The non-cylindrical design yields maximum carrying-capacity with optimal performance characteristics. Whilst primarily designed for land-forces, the units are also air-portable for rapid intervention or disaster-relief purposes. WEW water units typically incorporate chlorination, U-V and may also include onboard purification for a complete water extraction and potable water delivery system. Capacity:7,600 – 14,000L, Dims: 6,058X2,438X1,757mm, Delivery Capabilities: Up to 400L/Min.
WEW Infrastructure Water Systems
Ref NSN: 8145-12-346-8311
WEW developed this system in close conjunction with the Bundeswehr in 1999, since when versions have been delivered to several armies throughout the world. The system is used generally for water supply in expeditionary camps and hospitals. Internal baffles ensure it can be transported in any fill-state, whilst the on-board preservation and purification system ensures immediate access to fresh potable water. Some versions also incorporate forklift pockets and lifting legs. Capacity:16,000-23,000L, Dims: 6,058X2,438X2,438mm, Other Equipment: Baffles, heater, chlorination, U-V, bulk load/discharge pumps, optional R-O purification.
Demount Fuel and Water Systems
WEW have developed a range of tailored fuel and water solutions to suit individual army/truck payload requirements. Each system is developed in close co-operation with logistics and engineering staff from the respective military organisation and is designed to give optimum performance against a given load-bed capacity.
WEW specialise in integrating 3rd-party manufactured components such as pumps to deliver the correct customer solution for each application and requirement.
Ballistic Protection for Fuel Systems
Ref. NSN: N/A
In response to demand from various military organisations, WEW has developed a range of solutions, both modular and surface applied for its fuel systems. WEW ballistic protection has been successfully tested up to Stanag 4569 Level 4 with the following rounds:
• 5,56 x 45 NATO M193• 7,62 x 39 API BZ• 7,62 x 51 NATO Standard• 7,62 x 54 B32 API• 12,7 x 99• 14,5 X 114 API/B32
