Habia Cable acquires harness company

Habia Cable AB, subsidiary of Beijer Alma, has acquired all shares in CS Technology AB , a company developing and producing cable systems for the defence, aviation and space industry.

CS Technology annual revenue is 25 MSEK (2,7 MEUR) employing 12 staff. The head office is in Liding�, outside Stockholm and they have also production in Poland.

With the acquisition, Habia Cable will gain technical capability in harness design and production and plan to grow the business in Europe. Habia Cable recently invested in a harness production facility in Liepaja, Latvia and will coordinate the two units into one business area. The two founders of CS Technology will continue to be active in the company.

With this acquisition, Habia Cable will strengthen their position as one of the leading suppliers of special cables and harnesses to the defence and nuclear market.

CS Technology AB will be consolidated as from July 1, 2008

Habia Cable is a Swedish company with a global presence in more than 40 countries and is part of the Beijer Alma group of companies. Habia Cable specialises in developing, manufacturing and marketing custom designed cables and cable systems for demanding market areas such as telecom, defence, nuclear, and industrial applications in harsh environments.

Custom Design products make up the major part of the production and 90 percent of the sales are for export to more than 40 countries. The largest markets are Germany, China, England and Sweden.

The company has manufacturing and, research and development in Sweden together with manufacturing facilities in Germany, China and Latvia.

The turnover for 2007 was: 66,9 MEUR and the number of employees 415.
