L-3 Link Achieves Level D Certifications on EVA Airways - Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator

L-3 Link Simulation & Training (L-3 Link) announced today that its Crawley, U.K.-based operation has been awarded Level D certifications from the European Aviation Safety Agency and the Taiwan Civil Aviation Authority on an Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) delivered to EVA Airways’ state-of-the-art Flight Training Academy near Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.

EVA Airways’ A320 FFS is designed to Airbus standard 1.8 and is based on L-3 Link’s RealitySeven™ simulation architecture. The trainer’s flexibility is underscored by its ability to simulate an Airbus A320 equipped with either IAE International Aero Engines or CFM International powerplants, a capability that will enable EVA Airways to support third-party airline training requirements. The A320 FFS, which uses commercial-off-the-shelf technologies to reduce a trainer’s life-cycle costs, will also be equipped with Link UK’s market-leading eM2K motion system.

L-3 Link is also providing EVA Airways a Boeing 777-300ER FFS, which is expected to reach its ready-for-training milestone during the first quarter of 2014. Both the Airbus A320 FFS and Boeing 777-300ER simulators are integrated with Rockwell Collins’ latest-generation EP8000 visual system. In addition, L-3 Link will deliver an enhanced flight crew debrief system to EVA Airways.
