New Zorflex® Gas Cloth Developed

Chemviron Carbon Cloth Division, the leading manufacturer of activated carbon cloth under the brand name Zorflex®, has developed a new anti-gas cloth. 

The new Zorflex® anti-gas cloth provides numerous benefits – most notably both liquid and gas protection.  Other beneficial attributes include the following:

• high adsorption performance
• low weight burden
• low heat stress
• overall wearer comfort

The newly developed Zorflex® activated carbon cloth performed favourably in tests which were commissioned at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) – a UK Government Agency based in Porton Down. 

Following the test results, Chemviron Carbon Cloth Division worked with Remploy Frontline, headquartered in Merseyside, UK, to create the final clothing piece.  Remploy Frontline were an obvious choice as they have traditionally supplied the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MOD) for a number of years.  This includes most notably the Mark IV-A which is the current Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) suit of the British Army.  Remploy continues to supply bespoke CBRN protection solutions to the UK’s MOD.  Since its inception more than 60 years ago, military and civil agencies worldwide have worked with Remploy Frontline for their CBRN, marine and other personal protection equipment solutions.
