The 5th edition of ShieldAfrica, International Security and Defence Exhibition will take place at Ecole de Police d’Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), from 22 to 24 January 2019. The exhibition organised by the Ivorian company COGES Africa is sponsored by the Ministry of the Interior and Security of Côte d'Ivoire.

SHIELDAFRICA is the African Security and Defence event of reference that offers land-sea-air solutions to protect Africa's development: to ensure necessary security to economic development, to restore or maintain peace, to prevent and combat natural and industrial disasters, to ensure the safety of cities, to develop necessary services for public institutions and private bodies.
Security (public and private sector) and Defence actors from all over the continent meet at the show the industry from over the world offering equipment, services and innovative solutions tailored to their needs.
Borders: a sovereign challenge, an economic wealth
A strong Africa in a globalised world requires open borders that are safe and controlled by modern technologies and proven equipment. Secured, the land, sea and air borders must remain dynamic areas of exchange allowing the mobility of people and the transit of goods.
Theme 2019: "Secured and controlled Land, Sea and Air Borders, Conditions for the development of Africa".
Border control is one of the issues of national and international security. It requires modern and efficient African Customs administrations and dynamic, effective regional cooperation structures between countries. This 5th edition will address to the multiple security needs of the continent with a special focus on border security.
