Kromek exhibits across the UK and in Europe

  • Date: 3rd June 2025
  • Company: Kromek

Capitalising on Kromek’s position as a leading developer of radiation technology solutions for the CBRN sector, teams from the company have been demonstrating the company’s suite of detection capabilities. Attending near simultaneous demonstrations and exhibitions around the UK and Europe, whilst also involved in CBRN policy discussions throughout May 2025, reflects Kromek’s growing presence in the market and acceptance and recognition of the capability of their groundbreaking radiation detection products. This leadership is reflected in recent orders for £900K for the civil resilience market in the US and Europe.

Head of Product Design John Atkins, and Strategic Account Partner, Ken Nathan-Amissah, attended the annual CBRN TAC-ADS conference, highlighting the capabilities of the D3S ID, D3M and the D5 RIID handheld detectors. Hosted by the National CBRN Centre and Tactical Hazmat, TAC-ADS is always a valuable event for presenting the latest CBRN technology to the Tactical Advisor community.

FEINDEF25 in Madrid, Spain was attended by Kromek’s European Sales Manager Jose Jimenez, alongside IBATECH, Kromek’s Spanish distributor. The same products were on display and available for potential clients to view, handle and discuss. Kromek ever expanding its European customer base and distributor network is beginning to reap dividends.

Back in the UK, Kromek’s Technical Product Manager, Michael Walton, alongside Ken Nathan-Amissah, attended the National Resilience Assurance Team DIMS Uplift Showcase in Stratford Upon Avon. Meeting a number of representatives from the UK Fire Services, they were able to discuss the capabilities of the D3M detector, which was selected by the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service for the national DIMS Framework Contract. Demonstrating D3M ID to the other fire services members was a great introduction to Kromek’s innovative approach to the issues involved.

At the Society of Radiological Protection’s Annual Conference the range of handheld detectors were on show again alongside the RayMon and its attachable probes, Quant GR1 and AARM drone system. Kromek’s Nuclear Scientists Beth Laybourne and Callum Langley represented the company and had a productive time especially focussing on the Conference Theme of the need for changes in radiation protection following the commitment at COP28 to triple nuclear capacity globally.

Kromek’s commitment to CBRN policy and supporting the UK security industry was highlighted when Director of Products and Programmes Craig Duff attended the MAKE UK CBRNe Round Table, where members of the UK’s leading security trade association discussed current challenges for the UK sector and the importance of building resilience into the UK supply chain.

Reflecting on a busy month, Kromek’s newly appointed Strategy and Commercial Director Michael Stephenson said:

“In such uncertain times, we are seeing and discussing increased demand for radiation protection capabilities in both the civil and military services across the UK and Europe. Kromek’s range of innovative, userfriendly and operationally capable detectors meet the diverse needs of our national and international customers. Meanwhile, our team remain at the forefront of CBRN policy discussions, understanding operational and technical needs to deliver innovative and effective equipment and capability to those who deal with the threats posed by the modern world.”
