A new brochure from WASP has detailed drawings, specifications and features designed to provide electro-mechanical design engineers with an easy to read, concise reference document.

These standard parts, which vary considerably in size, number of switching positions, power requirements and mounting options are in daily use throughout the world in military and civil communications systems, industrial equipment, aviation systems, automotive applications and medical equipment. All the switches are spindle and panel sealed and are available as either decimal, or coded or in some cases, decimal and coded.

In addition to the standard products, WASP also offers the designer the chance to custom build to meet specific requirements such as spindle length, IP sealing or push/pull to turn for high security operation.

WASP also make an acturn. This is a true rotary solenoid with no linear motion and gives a high torque for a device which only has a 35mm diameter. Since the design is for rotary motion only, the speed of action is extremely fast at 25 milliseconds on a 35-degree throw. The acturn can be fitted with a spring return mechanism for single operation or can be used with a double acting unit to allow for two-way action.
