HEICO-LOCK® Wedge Locking Systems
Bolted joints in machines, vehicles, aircraft or ships are usually impacted by heavy dynamic loads or vibration and therefore tend to self-loosen. The loosening is a gradual process that often remains undetected until damage or total failure occurs. HEICO-LOCK® Wedge Locking Systems offer effective and sustainable protection – for every mission-critical application.
The HEICO-LOCK® series is a two-washer bolt locking system based on the wedge locking principle. When tensioning, the radial ribs on the outer surface of the washer pairs imprint into the surface of the components, while the opposing wedges at the inner surfaces effectively prevent self-loosening of the bolt.

HEICO-TEC® Tensioning Systems
Pre-tensioning of bolted joints with a nominal size >M24 requires a preload force that can usually no longer be applied by hand. Tensioning these large bolted joints often requires much higher operator workload and cost for tensioning tools.
The HEICO-TEC® Tensioning System enables an easy, fast and cost-effective solution for particularly large bolt connections by distributing the preload force from the main thread to many smaller pressure bolts. Instead of applying high torque to a large bolt with expensive tools, the required tension is achieved by tightening smaller pressure bolts. For tightening the smaller pressure bolts, a significantly lower torque is required which can be applied by standard torque wrenches.

Special applications require special solutions
In addition to its standard product range, HEICO offers customized bolting solutions. In close collaboration with the customer, a team of certified Fastener Engineers (DSV®) from the sales and R&D departments develop application-specific solutions. These requirements are supported by the company’s in-house testing laboratory, equipped with state-of-the-art, high-tech testing systems. In addition to hardness testing, salt spray testing, and many other technical evaluations, HEICO is equipped to perform vibration stress tests on bolted joints up to a nominal size of M64.
Sustainability and Responsibility
During the last decade, HEICO Group has invested significantly in sustainability, including the implementation of an environmentally conscious and resource-saving production process. The responsible treatment of people and nature, as well as energy and resource-saving manufacture of its products, are an integral part of the company ethos. With a PV-system on the rooftop, a combined heat and power plant (CHP), an open-air cooler, the utilization of waste heat from a renewable energy combustion plant, and a state-of-the-art building management technology, HEICO has been able to reduce its energy consumption by more than 37% and cut 50% of its CO2 emissions.
The company also intends to continue investing in sustainable projects and in the quality of its products and processes, because a long product lifetime ensures significantly more sustainability.
