AEI Systems to attend MSPO 2026
AEI Systems, the British medium-calibre weapon specialist and a core company of SYS Group, today announced its participation in the 34th International Defence Industry Exhibition, MSPO 2026, taking place at Targi Kielce, Poland, from 8th to 11th September 2026.
The company’s participation follows the highly successful Close Combat Symposium 2026 in the United Kingdom, where AEI Systems demonstrated the operational potential of its flagship VENOM LR 30×113 mm revolver cannon to representatives of the British Armed Forces, allied delegations and international defence-industry stakeholders.
During CCS 26, the VENOM LR was presented as part of a fully integrated weapon system with the UNIROBOTICS TRAKON 30 Remote Controlled Weapon Station, mounted on the Dragon 4×4 armoured vehicle. The successful demonstration highlighted the system’s accuracy, exceptionally low recoil, platform compatibility and suitability for modern operational requirements, including force protection, mobile fire support, counter-UAS missions and integration onto manned and unmanned platforms.
Advancing British Defence Exports
Building on the momentum generated at CCS 26, AEI Systems will use MSPO 2026 to further strengthen the international position of British designed and manufactured defence products.
As demand for sovereign, ITAR-free and readily exportable medium-calibre solutions continues to grow, AEI Systems is increasing its contribution to the defence-export ambitions of the United Kingdom. The company is expanding its engagement across Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and the Baltic states, which form a strategically important part of NATO’s north-eastern frontier.
Successful demonstrations and technical engagements conducted across these regions have confirmed strong customer interest in lightweight, low-recoil and integration-ready weapon systems. AEI Systems is now working to translate this interest into long-term industrial partnerships, platform-integration programmes and export opportunities for the British defence industry.
MSPO provides an important platform for engaging with Poland and other NATO allies investing in enhanced operational readiness, credible deterrence and sustainable defence-industrial capacity.
British Medium-Calibre Capability
Designed and manufactured in the UK, the VENOM LR represents more than seventy years of British medium-calibre engineering expertise.
Its advanced gas-operated action, high-performance revolver mechanism and recoil-reduction architecture provide consistent operation, sustained and high-rate fire capability and enhanced controllability while reducing stress on both the host platform and the operator.
The VENOM LR’s lightweight and low-recoil design enables genuine 30×113 mm firepower to be integrated onto platforms that have traditionally been unable to accommodate medium-calibre weapon systems. This makes it particularly suitable for remote weapon stations, lightweight tactical vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles, naval platforms and emerging counter-UAS applications.
AEI Systems is increasing its annual manufacturing capacity to more than 400 medium-calibre units, establishing the company as the world’s largest producer of 30×113 mm cannon.
This capacity provides the industrial scale required to support the United Kingdom, NATO allies and international customers with reliable and sustainable production.
Leadership Perspective
Utku Aral, Group CEO of SYS Group, commented:
“Following the highly successful demonstration at Close Combat Symposium 2026, MSPO represents the next important step in expanding the presence of AEI Systems across Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and the Baltic region.
These countries are now making critical investments in deterrence, operational readiness and the protection of NATO’s north-eastern frontier. Defence technology from the UK has an important role to play in supporting these requirements.
The VENOM LR combines British engineering heritage with the production capacity and integration flexibility demanded by today’s market. Our successful regional demonstrations have generated significant interest and we are confident that this engagement will contribute directly to the continued growth of UK defence exports.
By combining AEI Systems’ medium-calibre expertise with the wider capabilities of the SYS Group, we can offer our partners, not only a cannon, but a complete and scalable firepower solution for land, naval and unmanned platforms.”
Continuing the Programme at DVD2026
Following MSPO, AEI Systems will continue its September engagement programme at DVD2026, taking place at UTAC Millbrook in the UK on 16th and 17th September.
The event will provide another important opportunity to engage directly with the UK Ministry of Defence, the British Army, capability teams and industry partners, while reinforcing the commitment of AEI Systems to British manufacturing and the future requirements of the UK Armed Forces.
Supporting NATO’s Industrial Readiness
The participation of AEI Systems at MSPO and DVD2026 reflects its wider commitment to strengthening the defence-industrial capacity of NATO through sustainable manufacturing, rapid integration and long-term support.
By combining UK medium-calibre technology with the integrated weapon-system expertise available across the SYS Group, AEI Systems is positioned to support NATO and allied countries with scalable solutions designed for current and emerging operational requirements.
The company will continue to invest in UK manufacturing, engineering and international partnerships as it expands the global reach of British defence products and contributes to the security of the northern and eastern regions of NATO.
