AEI Systems to Highlight VENOM LR at EUROSATORY 2026
Paris, France
AEI Systems, the British medium-calibre gun specialist and a core company of SYS Group, will participate in EUROSATORY 2026, one of the world’s leading defence and security exhibitions, where the company is expected to further strengthen its position within the global medium-calibre weapons market.
Following increasing international demand and recent successful engagements across Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions, AEI Systems will present its flagship 30x113mm VENOM LR cannon system together with integrated Remote Controlled Weapon System (RWS) solutions developed by fellow SYS Group company UNIROBOTICS.
Unlike traditional exhibition participation focused on a single static display, VENOM LR will appear across four separate exhibition stands throughout EUROSATORY 2026. The system will be integrated onto both land and naval platforms, demonstrating the weapon’s exceptional flexibility and ease of integration across multiple operational environments.
In addition to being showcased at the CANiK stand, the system will also appear on several partner and integrator platforms, underlining the growing international interest in VENOM LR as both a domestic requirement solution for the United Kingdom and an increasingly important defence export product.
AEI Systems further confirmed that, following EUROSATORY 2026, the company will continue its international engagement programme through its sponsorship participation at CCS 2026 where VENOM LR and associated integrated solutions are expected to play a central role in future operational discussions and live capability demonstrations.
VENOM LR – The Next Generation Medium-Calibre Solution for Modern Warfare
At the centre of the AEI Systems presentation will be the 30x113mm VENOM LR revolver cannon, designed and engineered in the United Kingdom to address the evolving requirements of modern warfare and future unmanned operations.
VENOM LR has rapidly emerged as one of the most attractive medium-calibre systems for next-generation unmanned and remotely operated platforms due to several key operational advantages:
- Adjustable rate of fire over a wide range
- Low recoil
- High accuracy
- Low energy consumption
- Lightweight integration
- High platform flexibility
The low recoil load allows integration onto a wide range of platforms that would traditionally be unable to support medium-calibre weapon systems. These include lightweight tactical vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), unmanned surface vessels (USV), naval platforms, Remote Controlled Weapon Systems (RWS) and distributed air defence architectures.
As modern conflicts increasingly demonstrate, the importance of mobility, survivability and distributed firepower, VENOM LR is becoming one of the preferred medium-calibre weapon systems for future unmanned and autonomous combat platforms.
Integrated Counter-UAS Capability
At EUROSATORY 2026, VENOM LR will be showcased integrated with UNIROBOTICS’ TRAKON 30 RCWS. This weapon system provides a fully stabilised, combat-ready configuration optimised for multi-role missions and Counter-UAS (C-UAS) operations.
The combination of:
- The VENOM LR adjustable and high-rate firepower,
- The TRAKON 30 advanced stabilisation and tracking capability,
- The ability modern proximity-fused ammunition solutions,
creates an effective, cost-efficient response against emerging aerial threats. These include unmanned aerial systems and asymmetric airborne targets.
This integrated solution is attracting growing international attention from defence authorities and system integrators seeking a scalable and rapidly deployable protection solution for critical infrastructure, military bases and mobile combat formations.
Growing International Interest
AEI Systems stated that several new agreements and strategic cooperation discussions are expected during EUROSATORY 2026 as international demand for ITAR-free medium-calibre capability continues to increase.
Thanks to its:
- operational flexibility,
- rapid integration capability,
- low lifecycle cost,
- and sovereign supply chain advantages,
VENOM LR continues to position itself as one of the most competitive and future-ready medium-calibre systems available on the international market.
Leadership Perspective
Simon Angel, Managing Director of AEI Systems, commented:
“EUROSATORY 2026 represents an extremely important milestone for AEI Systems and the wider SYS Group ecosystem.
We are seeing a clear shift within modern defence requirements toward highly mobile, rapidly deployable and easily integrated firepower solutions. VENOM LR was specifically engineered to answer these operational needs through its low recoil, adjustable rate of fire, high accuracy and low energy consumption.
What makes VENOM LR particularly unique is its ability to provide true medium-calibre capability across a very wide range of platforms, including future unmanned systems where traditional medium-calibre weapons are often too heavy or generate excessive recoil forces.
Together with the UNIROBOTICS TRAKON 30 RWS, we are offering not just a weapon system but a complete, scalable operational solution capable of addressing modern battlefield realities, including the rapidly evolving Counter-UAS environment.
We believe EUROSATORY and CCS 2026 will further demonstrate the growing international confidence in British-engineered defence solutions and SYS Group integrated medium-calibre capability.”
