With the Army 2020 in focus in the UK, support for existing and future equipment requirements is high on the agenda. With the commitment to deliver equipment that will be safe and effective throughout its life cycle and the envy of many of the Nato Chiefs of Defence, specialist support for highly technical equipment must be an important consideration.

Qioptiq is one of the world’s principal designers and manufacturers of infrared and image intensified night vision equipment. More than 100,000 individual night sights have been supplied to over 56 different countries for a wide range of defence, police, border security, coastguard and search and rescue applications.

Weapon aiming and target acquisition
Qioptiq provides a range of world leading weapon sights for a wide variety of platforms including individual assault weapons, light support weapons, crew-served weapons, anti-tank/anti-materiel weapons and specialised sniper application. Using the latest image intensifying and uncooled thermal imaging technology Qioptiq offer fully qualified ruggedised military sighting solutions.

Support
With the shift towards support and the spotlight well and truly focused on the delivery of such support, engagement with specialist key industry segments will be required.

Qioptiq deliver a fully integrated support service that totally satisfies the customers’ needs. Having developed the skills, experience and commitment to meet the challenges of Customer Services – today and in the future, Qioptiq provide a tailored, flexible, cost effective, customer-focused service applied by experienced, highly trained staff with widely acknowledged expertise in all aspects of support.

The product range is supported by user and maintenance training services, maintenance facilities, technical advice and in-service support. Qioptiq is also able to offer a complete contractor logistic support service, encompassing equipment availability, obsolescence management and user level spares.

Working in partnership with the customer to drive down costs across the life of the equipment, Qioptiq designs, manufactures and provides through life support for photonic products and solutions to maximise equipment availability and to guarantee continuous through-life customer service for mission critical equipment.
