AEI Systems

Established over 50 years ago, AEI Systems is a UK BSI quality approved Company supplying weapon systems and military aircraft spares to customers around the world.

Aircraft Weapons Systems

  Design Excellence

We specialise in the design, manufacture, test and support of a wide range of small to medium calibre military weapon systems for air, sea, land and dismounted soldier applications.

Reputation

Renowned for our aircraft cannon knowledge and expertise, AEI Systems is the Design Authority and ‘Original Equipment Manufacturer’ to BAE for the ADEN 30mm Gun system as installed in the Hawk advanced trainer aircraft.

Weapon Mount Systems

Through Life Support

Obsolescence management and continual product improvement has given rise to a new ‘high rate of fire’ revolver cannon. The ASPEN 30, with blast suppression, improved recoil systems and gas regulation catapults this ADEN 30 variant into the 21st century.

Numerous other aircraft weapon types are supported; M39, M134, MO32 and DEFA to name just a few.

Cost Effective Solutions

AEI’s manually operated 20mm HS804 naval weapon systems offer cost effective gun solutions, while delivering an impressive punch.

In addition to the reliable AE20-NM naval weapon mount, we now produce belt-fed variants for prolonged target engagements. These mounts are in service around the world and are suitable for vessels of all size from RIB’s to Frigates.

Innovative

For military vehicle applications; AEI has developed a lightweight all Aluminium cradle AE20-VM with spring assist yoke for the HS804 belt-feed weapon system. Mounting is adaptable to suit individual slewing ring or pedestal interfaces, with an in-house designed flexi-chute feed linked to the vehicle ammunition tank location.

New Markets
For the dismounted soldier; AEI is in the process of design and manufacture of a complete range of 7.62 millimetre bolt action and 12.7 millimetre semi-automatic tactical weapons. A 20 by 110 millimetre variant will be available within 12 months with a 30 x 113 millimetre variant will follow shortly after. These weapons bring new and innovative features to the market and are designed and built to military aircraft standards of quality and precision.

Barrel Production

Expand in Capabilities

AEI has expanded its manufacturing capability to include in-house barrel manufacture up to a maximum of 105mm, both constant and progressive pitch. This gives us the flexibility to rapidly develop weapon variants of our existing designs to fire the 20 by 102 and 25 by 137 millimetre rounds for naval and land vehicle applications in response to customer demands.

Military Lubricants, Additives and Greases

Firepower FP-10™

Firepower is the ultimate lube in complete care of firearms, weapons and weapon systems. Firepower FP-10 possesses exceptional properties for an all-in-one firearms maintenance product. Firepower cleans the weapon, removes lead and copper, lubricates, guards against extreme pressure and wear, plus protects lubed surfaces from corrosion.

Many semiautomatic and full-automatic weapons will dysfunction after periods of fire sufficient to build up and transfer high heat to the receiver and its moving parts.
Two examples are Heckler & Koch’s MP5 submachine gun and Barrett Firearms’ M992A1 .50 caliber semiautomatic. Both models have a tendency to dysfunction after sufficient heat is generated through firing while using conventional lubricants. If Firepower FP-10 is applied, no dysfunctions associated with lubricity and tolerance change will occur. Feeding and extraction problems in the Remington 870 shotguns will also be rectified from the use of Firepower FP-10.

Military Industrial Lubricants, Additives and Greases

Antifriction lubricants and additives, extreme-pressure lithium greases, spray lubricants, penetrating oils, fuel additives, demoisturant, and cutting oils for your tough lubrication problems, or just for general, all-purpose lubrication and equipment protection.

Mobile Vehicle Lubricants, Additives and Greases

Antifriction lubricants and additives, extreme-pressure lithium greases, spray lubricants, penetrating oils, fuel additives, and fuel system cleaners designed for engines, transmissions, differentials, CV joints, fuel systems, and for general, all-purpose lubrication.

Riflecraft Ltd

Riflecraft Ltd are a ISO 9001:2008 accredited UK based SME specialising in precision rifles and training in support of these weapon systems to both civil and tactical customers. The company was formed in February 1998 by Andrew Evans-Hendrick after 20 years’ experience with the UK armed forces and has since expanded to occupy over 10,000 sq ft (930m2) in Norfolk.

The Company provides a design service with local manufacturing capability, a fully qualified armourer service including armourer training and a large civilian retail unit. All workshop staff and instructors are fully qualified and regular shooters. The Company and staff specialise in rifles and accessories and can therefore provide a truly dedicated service to civilian and tactical customers alike.

Military Contracts

Riflecraft have been successfully supplying UK MOD and UK Police for a number of years and have a dedicated Department catering to the needs of the tactical community, headed by a fully qualified Contracts Manager with over thirty years’ experience with the UK Ministry of Defence.

Members of the Tactical team have military and operational experience and therefore a real understanding of the needs of the End User.

To date nearly 100,000 handguards for SA80 co-designed by Riflecraft have been successfully delivered to British Armed Forces.

Military Supply Chains and Partnerships

Many prestigious US Companies have selected Riflecraft as their UK distributor and these relationships are based on a mutual respect and desire for the End User to carry the best quality products with the best possible support. Barrett Firearms, Remington Defense, LWRC International, Daniel Defense, Smith Enterprise Inc , Abrams/Milkor, Leupold & Stevens, Nightforce Optics, and McCann Industries are amongst the companies represented not only at the point of sale but for full support solutions for all of their products including user/maintainer training, full through life support packages (including spares & special to type tools)  repair, development and mid-life improvement programmes.
The combination of operational awareness, a design and engineering facility and access to some of the best names in the business, means that Riflecraft are not simply a supplier but a provider of solutions whether these are an off the shelf option from a partner or a concept that requires development from grass roots through design and proof of concept to the production of prototypes and trials.

The Modern Light-Weight Non-magnetic Bayonet

In response to the UK Government’s desire to reduce the burden on the Dismounted Soldier, Riflecraft developed a new, light-weight, non-magnetic bayonet. It does not interfere with the normal operation of the weapon when fitted over the flash eliminator, will penetrate a standard stab vest with a single thrust and the non-magnetic properties enable it to be used as an improvised mine prodder. The scabbard has been designed to fit to the soldiers MOLLE or belt and both this and the bayonet itself are made entirely in the UK.

New M2 Barrel Support

The Riflecraft M2 (HMG) Replacement Barrel Support was designed for this tried and trusted machine gun for both QCB and Older models to provide collimated mounting for all light / laser combinations. It is a CNC machined part rather than the traditional cast version and is indexed from the barrel threads at 12 and 6 o’clock making all dimensions relative to those threads and all mounting platforms parallel to the bore.  The multiple mounting of lights and lasers enables the shooter to retain zero whilst switching between the various technologies and only one Allen or Torx tool is required to change configuration.  An extension is also available for use through most armour.

Sound Moderators/Suppressors

Riflecraft have been promoting the use of sound moderators for some years and now have their own light weight range to fit the whole range of military and civilian weapons. The reduction in both visual and audible signature provides improved protection for the soldier and the reduction in weight and size reduces the impact on the weapon as was experienced with older heavier moderators.

The Future
The Business objectives of Riflecraft include the expansion of the business through sales at home and abroad. All products are fully supported “through-life” giving the customer a fully supported system for the life of the product. Full training packages are available and can be tailored to a train-the-trainer format if required by the customer.

Through our extensive distribution network, we export over 95% of our products worldwide. Headquartered in Heerbrugg, Switzerland, Vectronix AG is owned by Sagem (Safran group) and maintains two subsidiaries with four branches in the US.

Orientation Systems - Precision Target Location System – STERNA

Vectronix’ STERNA provides true north capabilities 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, in virtually any environment, and works in virtually all weather conditions. STERNA operates independently and does not require the soldier to carry any support resources to directly determine true north.

Vectronix’ STERNA does not require GPS, celestial bodies, survey, or landmarks, and can operate in a magnetically charged environment; thus, greatly reducing the cost of replacement parts.

STERNA’s independent true north capabilities permit the soldier to operate in virtually all battle and hostile environments.

Pocket Laser Range Finder – PLRF25C

The newest generation of the Vectronix Pocket Laser Range Finder offers snipers/spotters, marksmen and forward observers, the smallest, most powerful MILSPEC eye-safe Laser Range Finder available.

Ranging measurements up to 4,000 m, as well as accurate angle measurements, are no problem for the lightweight, compact unit.

Weighing 500g and measuring only 131 x 88 x 56 mm, the PLRF25C is ready for combat operation in the most extreme conditions. The PLRF25C fits easily in any pocket and is water resistant up to 1 m deep for 30 minutes (Optional 10 m).

Pocket Laser Range Finder – TERRAPIN

The Vectronix Pocket Laser Range Finder TERRAPIN delivers the smallest, lightest and most powerful laser range finder in its class.

Wrapped in a rugged yet lightweight aluminum housing, the TERRAPIN offers exceptional range out to 2,400 meters and operating capability under a wide variety of environmental conditions.

TERRAPIN offers water resistance up to 1 m for 60 minutes. The small dimensions of 128 x 104 x 47 mm and the low weight of 500 g make the TERRAPIN an ideal companion, especially for those who need range up to 2.4 kilometers.

The power-efficient design allows over 7,000 measurements on two CR123 batteries.

Thermal Acquisition Clip-on System – TACS-M

The TACS-M Thermal Acquisition Clip-on System easily attaches to existing Night Vision Devices (NVDs) to add additional capabilities.

Low power consumption, optimal sensor technology and high-performance optics integrate seamlessly to provide state-of-the-art long-wave infrared technology. Since TACS-M mounts on currently-existing NVDs with a bracket, the clip-on technology allows increased capabilities without the need to refit helmets for special equipment.

The miniaturized design causes the unit to be lightweight. TACS-M consumes very little power and consequently can be used for extended periods of time. The unit’s waterproof and rugged construction can withstand the harshest environments.

Compact Day and Night – Observation and Location Unit – MOSKITO

The MOSKITO Observation and Location Unit includes all the essential day/night viewing, measuring and geo-location functions in a most compact and user-friendly package.

MOSKITO measures range, azimuth and vertical angle. In addition, it incorporates the latest image intensifier technology for night time viewing, including self-regulation to different levels of brightness.

Options include a C/A code GPS receiver, Bluetooth module and cable for data transfer to C4I systems. Laser rangefinder, day and night channel are matched to each other and optimized for close and medium range applications up to 2500 m.

The result is an ergonomic, robust, compact and lightweight piece of equipment (1.2 kg) which adapts to a multitude of mission scenarios.

The Truvelo design team has added the Counter Measure Sniper Rifle (CMS) Series to its range of small arms. The CMS was developed for Urban Type Warfare at a shorter range. The rifles are compact and allow for easy manoeuvrability. The stock is foldable and the rifle lighter which makes it easier to carry in confined areas.
Interchangeable fore-ends available (application dependent).

Truvelo currently fields AMR (anti-material rifles) in four calibres, namely the 12,7x99mm, the 14,5x114mm, the 20x82mm and the 20x110 Hispano. In addition to this, the Truvelo APR (anti-personnel rifle) series is available in 7,62x51 Nato and the .338 Lapua.

The key to the success of the Truvelo range of sniper rifles is traditional attention to detail and sticking to what works best. While Truvelo’s Midrand plant is home to proven technology, its designs also match space-age material with classical lines. All rifles are bolt action. The combination of the right steel, the manufacturing process of the barrel, the bolt action and the fitment of the barrelled action into an ergonomically designed stock ensure unsurpassed accuracy. The most important features of these precision weapons are that they are lightweight, adjustable and accurate.
